On Saturday, February 21, the McKinney Christian Academy boys varsity basketball team played against Covenant Christian of Colleyville. The final score was 60-42, giving the Mustangs the win. Junior, Diego Landin, led in scoring with 21 points; junior, Leonardo Jimenez, had a double-double with 18-10, and senior, Manny Weaver, had 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Mustangs got off to a great start with a 13-0 run. After that, the rest of the game was very competitive, but ultimately, our defense was the reason we won. We held them to single digits every quarter but the 4th. When Jimenez was asked about the game, he said, "We came ready to play and took care of business. Now we are going to be prepared for the next round."

The Mustangs head to Waco on Friday for the State Final Four against Lubbock Christian at 10am.
