On Friday, November 7th, the McKinney Christian Mustangs opened their soccer season against the Texas Storm, highlighted by a standout performance from senior
Grady Rogers, who scored both goals for the Mustangs. McKinney Christian wasted no time getting on the board, as Rogers struck early in the 4th minute, giving the Mustangs a quick 1–0 lead. The Texas Storm answered immediately, just a minute later, to make it 1–1. Momentum would shift toward the Storm later in the first half when they found another goal to pull ahead 2–1. The Mustangs continued to battle in the 60th minute, and Rogers once again delivered for McKinney Christian, scoring his second goal of the game to even the score at 2–2. Both teams had chances late in the match, but strong defensive play kept the game level until the final whistle. It was an excellent start for the Mustangs and this will help them learn and improve for the rest of the season. Their next game is on Thursday, November 13, against Fort Worth Christian.
