On January 13, 2026, the MCA girls' varsity basketball team played against Bishop Gorman for their second district game. The game ended with a 48–19 loss for the Lady Mustangs. Sophomore, Elizabeth Thompson led MCA in scoring with 9 points and 6 rebounds. While the Mustangs played hard, Bishop Gorman kept the lead throughout most of the game. When asked about the game, sophomore, Lyric Scott said, "I would have liked to see us fight harder during this game, but I am excited to play them again and hopefully prove ourselves as the athletes we can be."
