McKinney Christian Academy

Katy Lansford is entering her first year as the Varsity Cheer Coach at McKinney Christian Academy. With National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) coaching credentials, she leads with both competitive excellence and spiritual purpose. Under her leadership, MCA cheer earned top honors at NCA Camp in 2025, including:

• Overall Game Day Competition Winner

• Overall Rally Routine Runner-Up

• NCA Leadership Rock Award Recipient

Coach Lansford views coaching as more than a role—it's a ministry. Her approach is rooted in a Christ-centered purpose, emphasizing that everything the team does is ultimately for the Lord (Colossians 3:23). Her core values shape not only how she coaches but also how she develops the character of her athletes:

• Integrity & Character – Modeling honesty, respect, and accountability (Proverbs 10:9)

• Accountability & Stewardship – Teaching athletes to steward their gifts and choices wisely (Luke 16:10)

• Community & Unity – Fostering a team culture of love and collaboration (1 Corinthians 12:12–27)

• Perseverance & Resilience – Helping athletes grow through challenge and adversity (Romans 5:3–4; James 1:2–4)

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Katy is blessed to share life with her husband, Scott, and their three amazing children: Rydon (16), Carrington (14), and Eden (12). Their family also includes two beloved Bernedoodles, Molly and Lucy.

Coach Lansford is passionate about shaping young women who shine both on the sidelines and in their daily walk with Christ—because cheer is not just about spirit, but about shining His light (Matthew 5:14).
