Wendy McDowell has been faithfully coaching at McKinney Christian Academy for 15 years and currently serves as the Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach—a role she’s held for the past 9 seasons. She also assists with both the varsity and middle school cross country teams, bringing her passion for student-athletes to multiple sports.
With 17 years of overall coaching experience, Coach McDowell has previously led middle school soccer, high school volleyball, and softball. Her leadership has resulted in numerous district championships, a State Runner-Up finish in 2017, and back-to-back State Championships in 2024 and 2025. She has been recognized as District Female Soccer Coach of the Year in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and was named the TAPPS 4A Female Coach of the Year in 2025.
Coach McDowell’s coaching is rooted in connection, purpose, and faith. Her philosophy is simple but powerful:
“They will not remember much of what I say, but they will remember how I made them feel. My prayer is that they feel Christ’s love through me.”
Her dedication goes far beyond wins and titles—she strives to impact hearts, build character, and point her athletes to Christ in every practice and game.
