With 14 years of coaching experience at all levels, she's ready to lead our Mustangs to new heights.
Over the past five seasons, she has progressed from Head Freshman Coach to Head JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at John Paul II in Plano, TX, where she helped the team win back-to-back 5A State Championships (2022/2023) and develop numerous Division I and Division II players.
As a player, Coach Kiara won four 6A State Championships in high school, earned All-District and All-Tournament awards, was named ESPN's top defensive player, and was a McDonald's All-American Nominee. She continued her journey at the nation's top JUCO and finished her career in the Lone Star Conference, setting the school record for most points in a game. Coach Tate also runs a non-profit program dedicated to empowering young women to believe in themselves, both on and off the court. The program encourages players to see with their eyes, hear with their ears, feel with their hearts, and understand with their minds what God has prepared for them.
Outside of coaching, she is a proud mother of four and loves raising her Kingdom household. Coach Tate is committed to excellence, integrity, and servant leadership, guided by faith. Join her and the Mustangs for an unforgettable journey on and off the court!
