On March 5, The McKinney Christian Academy Women's soccer team was crowned back-to-back state champs after a 3-1 victory over the Atonement Catholic Academy. Senior captain

Tatum Barnard assisted Ackmann's 40-yard goal. After the final whistle, all the girls celebrated and sprinted into each other's arms as they screamed excitedly. The team played with everything they had, although there was adversity. When Gerardis was asked how she felt after the game, she said, "I felt overjoyed, and I was incredibly proud with how our team ended the season. We could not have done it without Coach McDowell's leadership." When Junior,

I am grateful for how everyone works in practice, which favored our outcome." Mustangs finished the season undefeated in the district with only one pre-season loss, and their record being 17-1.
